Here’s a whole bunch of screenshots for Build 6801 of Windows 7 that was dished out on portable hard drives at PDC in October. I’ve been exploring it for a few days now and have taken some screenshots to showcase some of the changes that have been made since Vista was first introduced.

Some of the design features in 7 remind me of OS X, however it’s early days so it’s anybodys guess what final design will make it to the gold master disk (or how many different gold master disks they’ll be making this time round).

I hope they keep the whole system as streamlined as it is right now because this build although feels like Vista, uses significantly less RAM (less than 500MB on clean stable boot) and is much more responsive.
