The Alu-Crystal case from Proporta features a polycarbonate plastic and and aircraft grade aluminium and is designed to fit the second generation of iPod Nano.
I’ve had the pleasure of testing out the special edition of the PRODUCT (Red) iPod Nano and with it’s mind boggling size, its crucial that any accessory meets its sleek design and clean lines.
The Alu-Crystal features a front fascia made of scratch resistant polycarbonate plastic so it allows the natural
colour of your Nano to show through and with a circular cut out for the click wheel. The plastic covering doesn’t impair screen quality and provides your iPod Nano with just that bit more durability and robustness.
Proporta have carefully designed this case to fit the Nano dimensions as precisely as they could and using the thinnest of materials so the case doesn’t add that much to the weight or dimensions.
At the top, you have access to the hold switch and the bottom is left exposed for headphone and data access. It’s smart how the case is designed so that the Nano doesn’t fall out, since there’s literally nothing covering the bottom of this case.
To test this theory, I decided to give the case a few vigorous shakes to see if the Nano would pop out. The Nano stayed in. It didn’t move at all, thanks to the rubber grip that is on the side and on the back. If you want to remove the Nano from its case, simply push it out from the top and out it pops.
You’ll like the design of the front fascia, but what I would prefer is an all ‘crystal’ enclosure so that I can see the laser engraving on the back. If you haven’t got yours engraved then worry not, since the aluminium portion of the case does add a nice touch to the complete design. It doesn’t become a scratch magnet either, since the metal is brushed.
Not a lot else to say about this case, the Alu-Crystal case from Proporta does what it says on the tin, and that is to protect your Christmas present from mucky fingers and any foreseeable scratches.
Thumbs up to Proporta for knocking out this case at £14.95 incl. VAT, it’s a bargain buy for some decent protection for your precious Nano.
